A wax ribbon is a ribbon coated with an ink made essentially with wax-based components. Wax ribbons are the most popular thermal transfer ribbon for thermal printers. Wax-based inks have a good adhesion on almost all types of substrate and are perfectly suitable for printing barcodes and other types of labels.
Wax ribbons will deliver a great print quality on the following label materials :
AWR®1 is the most competitive wax thermal ribbon of the inkanto range. The very high sensitivity of the ink allows printing with low levels of energy with less stress on the printhead. AWR®1 is therefore the ideal solution for applications particularly sensitive to the quality/price ratio.
AWR®8 is the standard ribbon from the ARMOR wax range. It doesn’t make any compromise to quality and printing performance and therefore matches all criteria expected by a traditional wax application.
